Remote Verification Inspection (RVI)

In advance of its official launch at the LABSS Conference on the 14th September 2024, LABSS are pleased to present you with a copy of the

LABSS Practitioner Guidance to Support the Delivery of On-Site Verification Remotely using Live Video and Photographic Evidence.

This piece of work has been made possible through funding by the Building Standards Division to LABSS Digital Transformation Group to examine:

  • Supporting digital approaches to assist in reasonable inquiry, and
  • Supporting the development and dissemination of emerging national code of practice for remote verification inspection (RVI).

Production of the guidance was led by the ‘RVI sub-group’ of the LABSS Digital Development Group in partnership with the Building Standards Division’s Digital Transformation Team, with support from the Digital Hub, incorporated within the Building Standards Hub Pilot.

This document will also shortly be published on the LABSS website and post official launch in September, we will also be raising awareness of its existence with stakeholders.

We hope that you will find this guidance a useful tool in developing your own methodology when considering alternative processes for on-site verification.

Noting that construction standards, technology and processes are rapidly changing, it is intended to review this guidance next year and refresh its content in line with new developments.
