How time flies on a Building Standar​ds Career journey

Calum Kinnear left Grove Academy, Dundee in 2012 before completing a HNC in Construction at Dundee College in 2013.

THEN a Young Aspiring Student keen to make his way in the world

Whilst at college Callum undertook unpaid work experience in Building Standards at Dundee City Council to supplement his academic studies. In September 2013 he commenced a 3 years Modern Apprenticeship programme in Building Standards Surveying. Such was his commitment he completed it in only 18 months in March 2015. On completion of the Modern Apprenticeship, Calum was appointed as a Building Standards Surveyor with Dundee City Council and accordingly commenced a part time BSc in Building Surveying at Edinburgh Napier University in September 2015 whilst continuing to work full time. Having enjoyed considerable academic success Calum graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree in June 2020.

NOW a confident competent BSc Graduate in Building Surveying comprising academic study, mentoring and on the job, work based learning, in Building Standards.
